Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with First Baptist Church in Statesboro, GA as they search for their next Minister to Children. First Baptist Church in Statesboro, GA, is a historic downtown congregation with more than 138 years of ministry, known for its warm, multi-generational community and deep commitment to disciple-making. FBC Statesboro stands as a healthy, disciple-focused, and generationally connected church, equipped with strong ministries, engaged leadership, and a clear heart for reaching families and the nations with the gospel.

As Minister to Children at First Baptist Church, Statesboro, you join a collaborative team in a thriving, multi-generational church. You’ll oversee a vibrant children’s ministry (birth through 5th grade) that’s moving from a program-driven approach toward a family-equipping, discipleship-first model. Success in this role begins with building relational trust, developing volunteers, and equipping parents to disciple their kids at home. Working closely with the Discipleship Pastor and the broader Next Gen team, you’ll help shape a clear path of spiritual growth from preschool through graduation, supported by a generous budget and strong staff culture that values teamwork, mission, and time stewardship.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Lead relationally, prioritizing trust, connection, and teamwork.
  • Equip and empower parents to lead their children in faith, shifting from event-based programming toward family discipleship.
  • Develop volunteers through effective recruiting, training, and care systems.
  • High-Capacity Leader with Vision, able to bring innovative approaches for family discipleship.
  • Serve the entire church, not just the children’s ministry, demonstrating a collaborative spirit with staff and deacons.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Minister to Children position at First Baptist Church, Statesboro, represents both a significant legacy and a timely opportunity for forward momentum.
