Beyond its rich history, COTC is a growing and active congregation, committed to serving the spiritual and practical needs of the Bluffton community. With multiple locations, including its flagship campus and expansion plans, the church offers a range of worship experiences to meet diverse needs. Sunday services include traditional liturgy and contemporary worship, allowing for a wide spectrum of participation.
The Director of CrossPoint Worship at The Church of the Cross leads the contemporary worship experience at the main campus during CrossPoint (contemporary) services. This role is dedicated to shaping and guiding vibrant, Spirit-led worship that connects with the community. While the primary focus is on the contemporary worship service, the position may also involve supporting traditional, youth, and blended services across all campuses. The Director of CrossPoint Worship works collaboratively with the Director of the Worship Arts and Production to create an atmosphere of worship that fosters spiritual growth and engagement.

The Church of the Cross is looking for a candidate who embodies humility, serving both the worship team and the broader congregation. The ideal candidate should be a servant leader, with a deep appreciation for liturgy and the ability to integrate this with the church’s diverse worship styles. They should be adaptable and flexible, capable of navigating changing ministry needs with grace.
There is a strong emphasis on team dynamics, and the church values leaders who are team builders, able to develop and support a cohesive ministry team. The worship leader must also be collaborative, able to work well with staff and volunteers and exhibit a high level of relational warmth that fosters trust and community. Strong musicality is essential, with proficiency in tools like ProPresenter and Ableton as a plus, alongside experience in leading worship in both traditional and contemporary settings.
